Djarawong Bed and Breakfast Tully (Australia)

717 Old Tully Road, Qld, 4854, Tully (Australia), Australia.

Djarawong Bed and Breakfast Tully (Australia)

Situated in the Mission Beach Hinterland and set amongstthe rolling green hills of Djarawong, this new b and b has outstanding views as it is situated high on a hill.

This enchanting B&B has Asian styling and is dotted with large Balinese statues and pagados throughout the tropical gardens.

The quiet setting of the tropical rural retreat is amazing as it is only a few kilometres to the Beaches of Mission Beach and yet set in a delightful rural setting with rainforest of the Wet Tropics right at your door.

Our solar-heated salt water freeform swimming pool gives you the impression of being in a lagoon with a huge Balinese bowl suspended in the centre from which water gently flows, gives a wonderful optical illusion. Djarawong B&B is all about... relaxation. Our Chinese motifs say it all Peace and Serenity.

The birds and butterflys abound at this tropical oasis and if the cows are eating in the back paddocks, you will be amused by their antics, they are fun to watch, but who is watching who?

Our tariff includes a lovely tropical breakfast served in the indoor / outdoor guest area where you can get an early morning cuppa if need be to get that heart started, or a late night cuppa for the insomniacs. There is free tea and coffee facilities and homemade cookies, and on arrival a welcome glass of wne or a beer at 5pm each evening. Join us at the bar on the rear verandah and tell us all about your day. We love to hear about what you have done and will give you a few hints on what the locals do.

Feel like cooking yourself a meal on the BBQ, no problem it is all there for you, or buy one of our own BBQ packs complete with sauces and marinades all ready to cook.

For the reps that have been out all day and want a bit more spoiling, Cherelle can be enticed to cook yours up for you if you buy one of her BBQ packs, a smile is all that is needed.

With 2 delightful restaurants within easy cooee of the B&B, you might be tempted to try some of the local produce as the El Arish Tavern ....... fabulous food and we eat there regularly.

Transportation - Djarawong Bed and Breakfast Tully (Australia)

From Cairns: A 1.5 hour drive South to Djarawong. Travel South out of Cairns which is signposted to Innisfail and/or Townsville and is indicated as the Bruce Highway. When you arrive in Innisfail about 45 minutes drive so far, keep going and do not stray from the Bruce Highway as it meanders through the Art Deco hub of the Tropical North Queensland. Straight over at the new roundabout and over the Bridge you will see a turn off about ½ klm further on to the Right to Tully / Townsville, which is the turn you must take, and you are STILL on the Bruce Highway. After about 30 minutes or so, you will come across the famous township of El Arish, and there is a left turn for Mission Beach, but keep on going. Up and over the range you will come onto the flat at the other side at a + interseaction. Indicate Right to let everyone know behind you and there you are: The Old Tully Road, careful to stop at the railway crossing and LOOK FOR TRAINS, they do use this line frequently. 1.5klm along this road you will see us on the hill as you come around the bend. We are at 717 which has the rural signs on the side of the road and drive UP through the cutting and you are at your temporary home, for hopefully a couple of nights. The car park is at the top of the hill on the right, so swing in and come across to the office at this tropical oasis in the Wet Tropics. If you are arriving late and are not having an evening meal with us, then might we suggest that you consider one of 2 options: Roscoe's Pizza just as you are about to leave Innisfail on the left hand side before the big roundabout OR El Arish Tavern which is as you arrive in EL A turn Right at the 2nd street, Glasgow, drive to the end, and turn Left along Chauvel so you are running parallel to the railway line and the Tavern is on the left. A must is their steaks and/or fish ¿.. fabulous food and great value. Remember in the tropics most restaurants take their last orders around 8pm! From Townsville: A 2.5 hour drive North on the Bruce Highway. When leaving Townsville you will pass through the small townships of Ingham and Cardwell before entering the enter the Wet Tropics in North Queensland. Between these 2 townships you will come up the mountain and when you reach the top be prepared to stop for a fabulous photo opportunity at the top of the range for spectacular views of Hinchinbrook Island on your right and the Hinchinbrook passage. Be careful crossing the road to take these snaps. When you get to Tully we are only 1 turn away. Drive North past the Mission Beach turnoff, past the old Feluga pub on your left, and the next turnoff (at the big tree) to your left is the Old Tully Road. BE careful to stop at the railway crossing and LOOK FOR TRAINS, they do use this line frequently. 1.5klm along this road you will see us on the hill as you come around the bend. We are at 717 which has the rural signs on the side of the road and UP through the cutting and you are at your temporary home, for hopefully a couple of nights.
